A network for students interested in evidence-based health care

Antonio Simone Lagana

I am Antonio Simone Laganà, MD of the Department of Paediatric, Gynaecological, Microbiological and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Messina (Italy). I am member of the Scientific Committee of the “Italian Association of Endometriosis ONLUS”, In-Training member of the “Society for Gynaecologic Investigation” and Regular Member of the “European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology”. Currently, in my university I am developing a research program focused on immunobiology of endometriosis. In particular, we are trying to unravel the immunological background behind the peritoneal fluid homeostasis breakdown. We are investigating especially T cell subset pathways in ovarian endometriomas, peritoneal fluid, and how cytokines' behaviour could address the immune responses in these microenvironments.
